37 years ago on October 22nd, I received a prophetic Word that changed my life forever. Have YOU ever had a special Word from God? Let me encourage you with the words of the Apostle Paul to Timothy:
"This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck...". (1 Tim 1:18-19)
We have the scripture as a sure Word, but the Holy Spirit often guides, corrects & inspires individuals, Churches, Nations & the Church overall with timely Words which line up with God's Word & which bare witness in our heart of hearts.
On October 22, 1987... I was 22 years old when I received the confirmation from the Lord that I was called to serve Him in full-time ministry. The Lord answered questions I presented to Him earlier that day in my private prayer time. It was dramatic. I was seated on the front row as the man of God declared boldly and clearly at the end of the service a Word to those who had ears to hear. It was personal because it answered the very specific cry from my heart AND because the man of God couldn't have been standing any closer to me unless he were standing on my toes! While it was a Word to all who it bore witness to, it was clearly for me if I would be bold enough to receive it.
3 months later I had relocated across the country from Michigan to Dallas/Fort Worth, to follow God's unique path for my preparation in ministry. Unique it was. Unique today the journey continues.
What has He spoken to you? If you are looking for direction, it WILL come, Keep seeking Him. When His confirmation does come, be sure to hold-on to those words spoken by Paul to the younger Timothy. Hold-on to the Word that the Holy Spirit confirms to you. If it passes all the tests (we'll cover this in another article) then Hold-on & wage a good spiritual warfare to FULFILL your mission.
One way we do this is by associating ourselves with those who have done this already & who are walking fruitfully in their calling. Those who have been proven over time. Become connected with those who are devoted to life-long learning & living God's Word in Faith, Hope & Love.
We're ALL called to make a difference. I am more passionate than I was 37 years ago. My friends, let's open our eyes & hearts to the Lord's directives. He wants to use you & me to win the lost & set the captives free!
